Operation Football 2025 Highlights

Every year, come time for high school football season, I have the opportunity to work with our Sports teams at WTHR. We across various high schools of different sizes around the state to get a glimpse of their school spirit for our annual segment of “Operation Football” on our morning Sunrise show. This was a compilation of some of the best moments throughout the 2025 season.

Inspiring Indiana | Kevin Lollar

At age 11, Kevin was diagnosed with myelogenous leukemia. He was told that he would not have many more years to live. Miraculously, he beat his cancer and now does everything he can to make the most of each and every day. Just like this annual golf outing hosted at Foxcliff Golf Club in Martinsville, Indiana where money raised helps provide kids with after school care.

DigIndy Tunnel System Update

An over $2 billion project, DigIndy planned to create a new tunnel system help reduce overflow of sewage in our water systems throughout Central Indiana. We got a inside look into the progress they have made since first introducing the project back in 2011.

2026 Peach Bowl Fan Night at Georgia Aquarium

It’s no secret that IU’s run in the 2025-26 College Football season was nothing but historic. First National Championship in school history, an undefeated season and a Heisman winner?! Indiana was definitely the place to be during this time. I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Atlanta with the WTHR crew to cover all the fun and exciting things Hoosier fans can expect leading up to the Peach Bowl game against Oregon. This video showcases the Fan Night experience that was held for all fans at the Georgia Aquarium.

A non-profit based in Franklin, Indiana, Kids in Crisis - Intervention Team (KIC-IT) provides individualized programs & support for youth, ages 16-25, in breaking the cycle of homelessness by helping them achieve sustainable life change. I got the chance to speak with a few of their clients as they talk about the impact KIC-IT has made on their lives.

Inspiring Indiana | Webber Legrange

97 years young, and Webber Legrange is still picking up the iron and playing like he is the best thing since sliced bread! WTHR Sports Director Dave Calabro and I get a glimpse in a weekly outing he takes out on the green and defying all odds that someone his age couldn’t have game anymore.

“Shut Up and Dribble” a Short Documentary

As part of Ball State University’s Office of Housing and Residence Life, RAs are encouraged to create a project that reflects an important aspect of campus life and community building. I was invited by my brother, Jake, who served as an Academic Peer Mentor, to collaborate on a short documentary exploring the ongoing challenges people of color face in today’s society. The film focuses on personal stories, student perspectives, and the role social media plays in raising awareness, amplifying voices, and inspiring meaningful conversations about equity and inclusion within our campus community and beyond.

Check Up 13 | Maternity Tours

For most Americans, the Fourth of July is a day to celebrate and remember our nation's independence. But for Carly and Brian, this year's holiday marked something even more special—the arrival of their newborn son, who was delivered two weeks ahead of schedule.

To help expecting parents prepare for moments like these, Ascension St. Vincent offers free maternity tours that give families a firsthand look at what to expect on delivery day. From the nursery to water therapy options and other available services, the tour helps parents become familiar with the facility and plan ahead so they can feel more confident and prepared. With those details taken care of, families can focus on what matters most: welcoming the newest member of their family.

This story is part of a monthly project that Anne Marie Tiernon and I work on to highlight resources in our Indianapolis community and encourage people to make their health a priority.
